What is the longest you have played didj continuously using circular breathing (without any break in the sound at all)?

Please share your experience of playing didj continuously for long periods of time?

Ali from USA Up to 2 min I learned to circular breathe on the oboe. My teacher told me to use it carefully because in her experience the audience breathes when the performer does. So it might make people uncomfortable or hold their own breath. I tried it on my PVC piece with no mouthpiece and I was still able to do it.
Andres from Spain 25-30 min Every time I'm playing I'm enjoy it more
Andrew Hodge from Canada 15-20 min I zone out. Closed eyes tapping my feet rolling my head my hand starts moving to the beat. I feel lightness in my chest. I start to create natural beats without thought.
Andrew Wood from United Kingdom 20-25 min I don't often do it - "just because you can doesn't mean you should" as the man said. I can get lightheaded at times not unpleasant. After a while it can be difficult to know if I need to breathe in or out - and sometimes I have to let air out while I am playing - reverse circular breathing? I have never had any mystical experience.
Ashley from Canada Up to 2 min I have asthma and I find playing the didj helps strengthen my lungs and just makes me very relaxed.
Ben from Australia 5-10 min I felt like I was floating away with the sound. and when I play by myself in nature the birds sing along.
Anonymous from Netherlands 30-40 min Getting into 'spiritual' consciousness. A feeling of oneness with the didgeridoo and All That Is an experience that the didge and I are one an instrument being played.
Anonymous from USA Can play but not circular Light-headedness
Christian Robert from France 5-10 min I am a beginner and I find it difficult to go on blowing for long periods of time but I am improving. I just try different ways of playing which breaks off the sound. Fir examp^le when I use my voice I just forget to use circular breathing and I have to stop. A few months ago although I knew how to circular breathe I couldn't play for a long time but I know I can do it now provided I mainly concentrate on playing the drone. After a while I just want to try some other sounds and then the sound can break off by lack of air but it's very good fun to try other sounds.
Christopher from USA Up to 2 min I want to but my el-cheapo bamboo pipe has no back pressure. I think I can get it with something of better quality.
Cristian Bouniot from Chile Up to 2 min Very relaxing but hard...
Anonymous from Australia 10-15 min Demanding of strength...air and soul...
Derek Rusinek from USA 20-25 min Playing for long periods of time help get me into a trance state. I use it to meditate frequently.
Drew Macphee from Canada Can play but not circular My brain moves outside my body and makes me feel like I am in another place and when I open my eyes I am often shocked to be home.
Ed from United Kingdom Up to 2 min Trying made me dizzy but I think that's because I was trying to play like a trumpet not like a raspberry. I'll try again - thanks for your FAQs!
Eddy Weeks from USA 5-10 min Lips get numb and light headed
Erik from USA 5-10 min Sounds better the longer it is played. Feels like emotions are coming through. Very natural feeling.
Frank Lovecchio from USA Up to 2 min I have not been able to circular breath for long periods of time. However I have played for long periods for the Planet and Nature.
Geoffrey from Australia 25-30 min I get really fat lips:)
Gregg from USA Up to 2 min I was in a couple of bands and they had 1 to try. It was fun but hard work. I tried to play them like a tuba. Similar to when I was in grade school band.
Herb Cohen from USA Can play but not circular I have only PVC Didges I made following this website's directions. I have used them in drumming circles but wish I could circular breath
Jack from USA 20-25 min A trance-like calming sensation occurs. I can hear what I am playing and am in complete control of my body and my playing.
Jacob Brafford from USA Can play but not circular Sitting in a car playing out the window
Jacopo Bianchini from Italy 10-15 min After some minutes your mouth and your breathe are like one thing with your didj
Anonymous Can play but not circular Well I can manage multiple different sounds and styles but I'm still having difficulties to circular breathe but I'm getting better each day I train.
Joakim Sørmo from Norway 2-5 min To play a didj with circular breathing is really hard! But even if perfection takes a good amount of time you can still learn it quite well if you just go for it. After two weeks I managed to play continuously for almost 3 minutes it's maybe not very much but fun as hell!
Anonymous from USA 5-10 min It was hard and tiring.
Anonymous 25-30 min Well first I forget why I was playing and start feeling my body and my conscientious special way
Joshua from USA 2-5 min I find it very contemplative and relaxing
Anonymous from USA Up to 2 min Its hard I have to yet keep practicing to try to go longer
Keenan from USA 10-15 min I really enjoy playing the didgeridoo for long periods of time. While I may repeat the same rhythms over and over it is still quite relaxing to sit outside and experiment. I like to play for 10-15 minutes continuously and then pause to think and listen to the sounds around me. I usually play in these short spurts for about an hour or until my lips swell too badly.
Mary from USA Up to 2 min I love it so much. It's so much fun and it meditates me. The vibrations and the breathing aspect of it all make me happy and energetic.
Michael from Canada 5-10 min You zone out and lose yourself in the playing
Michael Rainbow from USA Can play but not circular I haven't played for a long time yet but I am excited to start. I have been interested for years and finally a couple of nights ago I watched Michael Marsolek of the Drum Brothers playing a didj and said OK I'm making one now.
Mike from USA Can play but not circular I can relate to the didj because I played the trombone for 8 years though I've stopped playing. With my didj I love sitting with my friends playing to the beat of their djembe or bongos. The tingling sensation in my my lips and face is an exhilarating feeling I crave since I first picked up a didj
Oren from Israel 30-40 min Like meditation relaxed with awareness....peaceful mind
Philip from Australia 5-10 min As yet I can only maintain the drone for a relatively short time although playing with breaks for an hour or so. With out doubt this is always uplifting (clears the head and opens the heart) and often transporting.
Anonymous 5-10 min I play the trumpet and practiced circular breathing
Rui from Portugal 1 hour + Well every time that I play is every time that I get admired and inspired for the following days
Anonymous from Finland Up to 2 min "long period" for me was about a minute but I really felt like I am getting better at playing
Sten from Canada 50-60 min It was the fall solstice. I went to my favorite hill in Calgary lit a circle of incense sticks around me and let the vibes just flow feeling them in the ground hearing them in the air and freaking out people walking by who couldn't even tell where the sound was coming from.
Tanner Saylor from USA 2-5 min I find it extremely relaxing and the more I play it the more I want to play it.
Timur from Germany 10-15 min Every time I play I learn something new I really feel like I could spend all my time with playing didgeridoo. I really enjoy it and really would meet an aborigine who shows me how to play the didgeridoo and tells me some tricks.
