Kakadu park entry fees to be scrapped

Extract from Australian Broadcasting Corporation - ABC Online, on 19 August 2004

The Federal Government has announced it is scrapping entry fees for Kakadu National Park.

Prime Minister John Howard has made the announcement at a morning tea for CLP members in Darwin's northern suburbs.

Mr Howard told the 500 party faithful the charges would be abolished no later than January 2005.

He has guaranteed traditional owners will not see a reduction in their revenue as a result of the decision.
