NT uni launches Yolngu culture course

Extract from Australian Broadcasting Corporation - ABC Online, on 14 February 2004

Charles Darwin University in the Northern Territory is conducting courses on Yolngu culture.

The course will introduce people to Yolngu languages, culture, dance, song, history, decision-making processes and ceremony.

It is being conducted in the evenings at the university's Darwin campus to encourage more participation.

The university says the course would be useful to businesses, governments and tourism operators working in Arnhem Land.

People wanting to learn conversational skills can enrol in special classes.

The course begins on February 24.
