Indigenous groups share in bush foods venture

Extract from Australian Broadcasting Corporation - ABC Online, on 22 Jan 2003

Two western Victoria Aboriginal groups are shareholders in a new company
selling Indigenous foods in supermarkets across Australia.

The Mildura Aboriginal Corporation and Warrnambool's Worn Gundidj
Corporation are producing native ingredients for the Outback Spirit food
range.

Worn Gundidj chairman John Collyer says Indigenous groups will benefit
from the new business.

"This is the unique thing about this commercial arrangement. It's not just
about employment and training, it's about each Aboriginal organisation
having an equal equity share in the business, the development of the
business, the supply and also benefits from the business," he said.
