Since I've started really playing the Didgeridoo I can't put it down. I live a mile and a half from my work and my lunches aren't spent on eating (I go hungry) they're spent speeding home and didjin' for 20 minutes before going back to work. Then I come home and didj some more. In the past week I've put in almost 17 hours of playing by myself with friends and on the streets of Ann Arbor. In fact I'm going out today to hunt for didj worthy logs to try my hand at crafting my own. I've never picked up anything so quickly and be this good at it that fast. The more I play the more I play. |

When I was in the fourth grade I first discovered the sound and origin of the didj. I made it a point to get and play one at some point in my life. Fast forward five years a few friends made one out of pvc and I ended up making one with them. I tried to play it but couldn't figure it out until a few years later. It took me a month of constant playing to figure out how to play and how to circular breath only by picture figures on the internet. Once I got it all I've been able to play for others and teach them and inform them about the didj. which has kept the love of it for me. If it weren't for the didj I probably wouldn't have picked up an instrument at all. |

I was guided in a dream in 1996 that I would play the didgeridoo before I even new what one was. After that I picked my first didge up in a shop in Portsmouth NH that had been made under the guidance of Bill Harney and his tribe in Catherine AU. I picked this didge up and could immediately play. In about a week and a half I could circular breath and was playing daily with the nature around the river by my house (which at that time was a calming and needed meditation that I did not even realize for years had saved me from so much) and then also began to play out musically with the blues and jazz acts of the bar I managed within the first 30 days. Since then I have performed in multiple countries musically and developed a respected and growing sound therapy practice that has also taken me all over the united states and parts of the world. Musically: http://www.603bc.com and http://www.bastinadomusic.com Therapeutically: http://www.didgetherapy.com After realizing that a gifted player and this instrument can truly help a person to find various ways to access their own natural healing abilities I have worked hard to continue to educate the holistic and medical communities of it's effectiveness and also find other didge players that are willing to look at the credible and duplicatable processes by which I have established my practice in both of these fields. The didgeridoo has truly helped me to fulfil my drive to help myself and others to a better more peaceful existence. |

Since I am fairly new to the didj I can't say to what extent it has or will change my life. However I have noticed that it has an addictive quality especially since I have learned to circular breath. I suspect that it will have an effect on my life in a multifaceted way: 1. spiritually from a musical angle; 2. spiritually from a physical angle (the breath training involved affects the very core of my being because breath is where everything begins if you know what I mean.) |

Not being able to keep a note when singing made me believe that music was something that I was just not meant to going towards. Then one day a friend in passing told me that I did not need to know how to sing but rather let the didgeridoo do it for me. I had an accident in 1986 where I had a steel bar through my face. I had a lot of breathing difficulties. I had a mate who owns Aboriginal artifacts shop in West Wyalong. I bought the first Didge he ever had in the shop. Although I could not get the circular breathing I kept on trying. I met Alan Dargin at Circular Quay one day he Showed me Alan said if I watched what he did listened to him And Practiced he would teach me to play. After 6months my breathing problems started to get better within a year I did not have any breathing difficulties. The Didge has also done Healing on my son. This Has been Measured - proof that it was Didge doing healing. My last Didge healing went pretty normal I got a message ( I usually get messages for people & I tell them the message ) I told the lady she was to take care of her back around her ribs. She was confused as she felt ok & did not have any problems with her back. The next day she had a fall got taken to Hospital got x-rayed & had a cracked rib from the fall. The Dr was amazed as she had no pain for her type of injury she would usually have a fair bit of pain. She rang my wife & told her & that she believed it was the Didge healing. I KNOW it Was The Didge. |

The most obvious thing has been to discover more in details the breathing side of my body and to play with it. For me it was just breathing before and I could play so much with it. The second thing it brought me to discover the Aboriginal beliefs. I always felt connected with it but discover that our civilisation think to be the most advanced even if we are so far from our lifes and even if the old cultures are closer to it than us. |

I have never been a musical person although I wanted to be. I never thought my direction in life will ever be directed towards music making. And now it all seems move in that direction. One day I hope I will be able to make people dance and get into trance and ecstasy while listening to me play(and with the right instruction). |

It has opened me up to a larger world. it has almost magical powers that most people cannot understand or choose not to recognize due to social or other reasons. it has given me a great respect and appreciation for the ancient nomadic cultures of the earth and less of a respect for my own culture--a young culture of endless exploitation and greed. I feel that it is my duty to teach as many people as possible about the didgeridoo play it for them and then teach them about the Aborigine and why respecting other cultures is important. |

I'm currently obsessed in learning more about what makes a didj a didj. Since the Didj is such a personal instrument and I get around so little I've tried designing my own instruments based mainly on what I've read about and heard in recordings. Understandably not everyone is very willing to share their mouth piece with strangers (germs). That is I haven't had a lot of chance to try a higher end instrument. So I experiment. A lot! Hopefully when I ever try the one in a hundred Didj I will appreciate it. |
