Name and Country How many times have you been to Australia? How many times have you met Australian Aboriginal people? Please share your perceptions and impressions of Australian Aboriginal people
Michael from Germany Never Never I think they are an old honourable culture. And I think they live in harmony with the nature and respect the creation
Anonymous Aus 10+ Work with them from time to time. They are good
Carl Binneman from South Africa Never Never Good people in tune with the land. I wish everyone else were similar.
John from USA 3 3 Generally very warm and friendly people.
Daniel Schurman from USA Never Never I know less then I would like to about the Aboriginal peoples but I have great respect for all native cultures. I love their art work.
Anonymous Never Never They are spiritual wise people that suffered atrocities at by others who took their land and their culture and tried to take their dignity.
Anonymous from Slovakia Never Never I am really impressed by Aboriginal people. I think that in a city you can never live so happy natural and beautiful life like Aborigines do.
Dustin from Germany 1 10+ They are all different.
Michael from Austria Never Never I don
Erik from Netherlands Never Never Cultural diversity is paramount to sustain human life on earth. the sharing of knowledge enriches us all. the views aborigines have on how to live with their surroundings just might be the thing we need in today's world where far too many things are taken for granted. This is not my politically correct answer and I'm not a naive hippie
Margaret from USA Never Never A part of earth's rich history now being "civilized" into poverty and eventual homogenization.
Anonymous Never Never Aborigines are good people cause they didn't forget where they come from they still have tradition.
Jeremy from USA Never 4 Amazing native people vibrant!
Joanne Hale from USA Never Never That they are a culture that seems like in time will go extinct with modern technologies and cities over taking their lands it is one that is quite interesting but shrinking.
Mark from Australia Aus 10+ Mostly friendly open and generous people who will share what they have with you.
Terry from USA 2 3 Modest somewhat shy. The art work is beautiful
Anonymous Aus 10+ Same as me with different coloured skin
Joyce from USA Never Never Wonderful to see that population represented at the Olympics!
Clarissa from USA Never 10+ Djwalu Guruwiwi is amazing. Some western Aus give a good first impression but they can be lacking the spirit of respect. In the end no one part of the Aus island carries all of its heart.
Anonymous from New Zealand 7-8 3 An ancient indigenous race who have suffered significantly from colonialism.
Maria Evangelina Benaglia Ferreyra from Argentina 2 1 Proud artistic beautiful.
Warren from USA Never Never I have very little to go on outside of pop cultural sources unfortunately but I can play didj at least.
Anonymous Never Never Tribal people who are musically inclined.
Anonymous Never 1 Not much to tell. Barely knew the guy.
Shane from Australia Aus 10+ True bushmen with great respect of the land.
Anonymous Never 2 They are oppressed
Rob from United Kingdom Never 2 The two occasions I met an Aboriginal couple I was working as a night porter in a hotel in the English Midlands. I found them to be polite and excellent company well into the early hours.
Ruth from USA Never 1 I find Aborigines and their culture absolutely beautiful. I feel a strange connection to them as well. I love their deep understanding and respect of nature. I feel like Aborigines should be treated better and it hurts me to see that they are being to change the ways in which they have lived for thousands of years in order to merge and survive in today's society. I hope that Aboriginal culture becomes a bigger influence on Australia as a whole and their beliefs more recognized.
Ron from USA Never Never Very much like the American Indians.
John Hornsby from Canada Never 10+ Australian aboriginal people are inviting and are willing to mingle with anyone! They are not shy about their culture or world views.
Darrien from Australia Aus 10+ In their own environment polite and friendly. But when subjected to having to live by white rules and tradition they seem lost and struggle to deal with our 'norm'
Dennis Sigala from USA Never 2 A family performed at a Native American pow wow and he did the Kangaroo Dance played didgeridoo! loved it!
Anonymous 5-6 3 They are incredibly cultured and have such strong values and beliefs that it puts our materialistic lives to shame.
Anonymous 1 Never Intriguing folks
Laci Toth from United Kingdom Never Never Honesty
Ashley Piper from Australia Aus 5-6 Misunderstood by most Australians.
Christina Kiwat from Australia 3 10+ Just like anybody else but very disadvantaged. Stuck in an incredibly hostile cultural environment where the majority is uninformed and discrimination is built into every process. Australia is the most casually racist country I have ever been to.
Anonymous Aus 10+ I sense a lot of pain and barriers (with plenty of justification) I think there is a beautiful culture that has been severely exploited over centuries.
Anonymous 1 Never I think they're amazing. I love their ideas about nature.
Earl Tharp from USA Never Never I believe they are intelligent and dignified people who have been treated very badly by their government.
Robin from Australia Aus 9-10 Really varied just like any other culture really. Some professional some in poverty. I felt sorry for the situation of Aboriginals in Alice Springs. I didn't get to know any there but they seemed 'lost'
Anonymous Never Never Never met one but I would think that they would be very proud of their history.
Kim from USA Never Never I have much in common with the Aboriginal people. As a person of Native American background whose relatives made the Trail of Tears I am struck by People with similar histories. The Aboriginal people were victims of Genocide Population control Assimilation by Opposing Government forces. Yet They thrived. And music is an important part of their heart.
Jonas from USA Never Never Nomadic deep rooted in culture and tradition. Proud
Denis Bodrov from Russia Never Never This is my wish-visit Australia and 1-2 weeks live together with Aboriginal people
Douglas from Canada Never Never From my understanding and research about Australian Aboriginal people they are a noble respectful and kind people that have a rich culture and heritage: a culture whose preservation should be paramount to Indigenous and non-Indigenous population. I have nothing but respect for these strong people.
Kim from United Kingdom Never Never I have seen several TV films and series which have featured Aboriginal people - They are unique and have unfortunately been downtrodden for many many years. I think they have an incredibly interesting belief system - I would love to spend time with some of these people - I could write for ages on my perception but there is no substitute for meeting these people.
Marcus from United Kingdom Never Never An ancient indigenous people who have largely been oppressed since Western settlement of Australia. They possess a great reverence for the land flora and fauna.
Sven Fardel from Switzerland Never Never Liberty
Akos from Hungary Never Never People who are in strong and direct connection with nature having a rich culture evolving from their long history. People in danger due to the invasion of people coming "from out there"
